Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to be Adam and Eve, or even Cain and Able? Can you imagine not having a clue how to live this life without God. The first people that were supposed to always be able to be in the presence of God, but because of their sin, all that was taken away. But could you also imagine that even though they were in sin, they were still being taught from God. Take this for example. When Cain and Abel brought their offering to God, and God saw that the offering from Abel was better than Cains', how did Abel know what pleased God? When Cain grew angry, and God told him that sin was at the door, God still spoke to him even though these people were in sin because of what happened at the beginning. So, Cain has been warned by God to not commit a sin. Cain disregards Gods warning and still murders Abel, his brother. Then God again speaks to Cain, and asks him, where is your brother. Cain replies with hostility, am I my brothers keeper. God then questions him and said, Listen! Your brothers blood cries out to me from the ground. My question to you is, what did Cain have to listen to? What was God showing him? I believe that in that instance God was teaching Cain to listen to his conscience. Who else would have taught about a conscience then, the only One that knew we had one and what it was called, and what its purpose was for! God, Himself knew what our conscience was for and in order to teach Cain, he first warned him about committing a sin and that it would be wrong to do it. He then told Cain to listen to his conscience that would make him feel the shame of committing the sin he was warned not to commit. God is so loving that even though he already knew that Cain was going to do it anyway, he still warned him of the wrong action, then dealt with the judgement after Cain chose to follow through with it. Can you imagine how he felt while he was in the process of committing the sin? If God was that merciful then, and there was no covenant. Imagine how merciful He is now, and with the new covenant! God will still speak to us in our sin! He wants us to know Him, and have a relationship with Him. He wants to draw you near to Him, how do you think He does that if you are in sin? I am a witness to how God is faithful even in my transgressions. He wants us to get it right before Him! He is a patient and loving God!! Won't you just give it a try to have a relationship with Him! He loves you!!!
